All I want for Christmas

I must have a dozen posts in draft but I can't seem to get myself to finish them. It's that time of year, you know. Gotta get accounting set to close the books, finish performance reviews, finalize the 2008 business plan, set first quarter action plans...
What's that you say? That's not what you think of this time of year? Good for you.

I'm trying, now, more than ever to get into the spirit of the holidays. It's about perspective I guess; or maybe it's just a decision you make. In any case, I'm going to be in the spirit this year.

This little ornament is a gift from a friend. A motorcycling friend which makes it fit into the general theme around here. It's the kind of gift I like to receive, one that says " yup , I get you, alright ;)" Hand made, no less, right down to the safety wire hanger. It made me smile a genuine smile when I opened the package today.

I guess I'm kind of a Charlie Brown type or at least I was. The last ten years have really been pretty good to me. If you were to park the 29 year old me next to the modern day 39 year old me, I'm pretty sure you'd agree. Healthier, more confident and blessed with a great group of friends from all over the globe. I'm happier and really, what else matters?

So, I'm finding myself in the mood to enjoy Christmas, really enjoy it like the people in those Christmas movies do.
